Join a ZCFI naturalist as we hike either the East Mesa Trail to Observation Point down to the canyon floor at Weeping Rock or the East Rim Trail to Deertrap Mountain and back. JOURNALING INTO A DEEPER NATURE ZONE

Spend the morning sitting quietly at two different locations within Zion Canyon and documenting sensory observations, thus creating a dialog with the immediate environment. The outcomes of this class can include notes for further nature study, sketches, creative writing inspiration, and a log of seasonal climate, plant, and animal occurrences. BASIN TO PLATEAU

At Spring Creek (just north of the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park) the transition from Colorado Plateau to Basin and Range is abrupt and obvious. Spend a day in the field with a Zion archaeologist and get a feel for the daily comings and goings of this fascinating profession. We'll start at 9am and go until 3 or 4pm.
