TO THE RIM AND BACK
Need to stretch your legs a bit? Join our Naturalist/Instructor as we hike the East Rim Trail to Deertrap Mountain or Cable Mountain and back. Either hike affords fantastic views in all directions. This is one for seasoned hikers looking to expand their knowledge base while they enjoy a longer hike. Along the way we’ll talk geology, botany, some biology, and desert ecosystems. We’ll pass through several of Zion’s geologic layers, and enjoy incredible rim vistas. We’ll stop at a nice spot somewhere on the rim for our picnic lunch. Enjoy one of Zion’s premier hikes and learn a lot about the desert you love along the way. Limited to 5 participants. YOU MUST BE IN FIT HIKING SHAPE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS STRENUOUS, ALL-DAY, 7-8-MILE HIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT: 2 by Thursday, May 13, 2021 @ 12 noon or class will cancel. If you’re reading this past the minimum enrollment date it means the class is a go and you can still sign up by calling 435 772 3264.

MEETS: 8 am Zion Human History Museum
ACTIVITY LEVEL RATING: STRENUOUS 4 – 8 miles with significant up and down elevation gains. AND POSSIBLY, PRECARIOUS Walking on established trails with significant steep drop-offs (exposure).
