Spend the morning tracking and observing birds along the Virgin River, and within the canyon’s lower slopes and bench lands. Species will include both year-round residents and spring migrants. Tracking techniques will focus on birding by ear, sitting quietly in one spot, and talking about springtime bird behavior, migration, and other aspects of various species’ natural history. LIMITED TO 5 PARTICIPANTS.
Location(s) TBD; Participants should bring binoculars (or can borrow), good walking shoes, clothing appropriate for the season and changing conditions, sunscreen, water, snack, and a field notebook and pens/pencils for recording observations, impressions, notes, etc.
